Durational Performance

In this performance the artist writes a sentence on a chalk-board in two languages (Indonesian and German), using both hands simultaneously, character by character. The sentence that is written is unplanned and intended to communicate his thoughts on the day of the performance. The choice of hand for each respective language is decided by the location of the performance e.g. When performed in Indonesia, the native language is written with the artists‘ natural right hand. Both sentences are meant to be written with proper grammar and expressions of both languages.

The performance ends when one of the sentences, either in Indonesian or in German, is concluded by a full stop. This means that the corresponding hand of the unfinished sentence also stops, since the message has been delivered by the other sentence, in the other language.
